Dembë and Fallanë – narrative short, 2014, 7’02’’

A mythic tale in which a man must persuade an evil god who has possessed the body of his lover to return her to him.

Situated in Jack Setford’s paracosm of Athonoléi, the film is performed entirely in an invented language that the co-lead had to be coached in. I was discovering a lot of Bergman at the time and thought his black & white style could work well in the fantasy genre and lend some grounding to it, so this short was very fun to experiment with.
